Post-surgery rehabilitation

Post-surgical rehabilitation is a crucial process designed to support patients in their recovery following orthopedic surgery.

Common procedures include ligament reconstruction, joint replacement, spinal surgery, and tendon repairs. During this phase, it is essential to respect the body’s natural healing times, reduce pain and swelling, restore joint mobility and muscle strength, and gradually return to daily and sporting activities.

As an OMT (Orthopaedic Manual Therapist) physiotherapist, I develop a tailored rehabilitation program based on the surgeon’s recommendations and personalized to the patient’s specific needs. The program takes into account not only the type of surgery performed but also the patient’s overall condition and personal goals.

Each rehabilitation journey begins with a comprehensive functional assessment that helps monitor recovery progress and guide the subsequent treatment phases. When necessary, I maintain close communication with the specialist physician to promptly address any complications or warning signs that may require further investigation.

The primary goal is to promote an effective, safe, and lasting healing process, respecting the unique aspects of each surgical intervention and ensuring a gradual, complete return to normal activities.

Post-surgical rehabilitation is not just physical recovery—it is a pathway aimed at restoring the patient’s quality of life and independence in the best possible way.
