Teaching, education and mentoring for physiotherapists

University and professional education, professional mentoring and clinical research, with a particular interest in clinical reasoning, rehabilitation, exercise and scientific publication.

Education

From university teaching to professional discussion

I undertake teaching activities in university settings and take part in professional education, conferences and scientific meetings for physiotherapists as well as doctors, other healthcare professionals and exercise and sport science professionals. The main topics include physiotherapy, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, exercise, sport and the application of evidence in practice.

Alongside academic teaching, I offer professional mentoring for physiotherapists: individual discussion around clinical reasoning, case management, load progression, exercise and the development of a more structured way of working.

I am also involved in clinical research, with an interest in scientific writing and publication. This has included a publication in 2024, as part of an ongoing effort to keep research, evidence and clinical practice closely connected.

Areas

Teaching and mentoring with the same aim: clearer reasoning that can be used in practice

Teaching and mentoring serve different needs, but both focus on method, evidence and practical application.

University teaching

Lectures and educational activities in physiotherapy, rehabilitation, exercise and sport.

Clinical research

Interest in scientific publication, critical appraisal of the literature and the application of evidence in physiotherapy practice.

Individual mentoring

Professional discussion for physiotherapists who want to explore cases, clinical decisions and progression.

Conferences and professional education

Conferences, scientific meetings and educational activities for physiotherapists, doctors, other healthcare professionals and exercise and sport science professionals.

The pathway

How mentoring can work

Mentoring is not a standardised lesson: it starts with the questions, cases and professional goals of the physiotherapist.

1

Goals

Together we identify the professional, clinical or methodological areas you want to develop.

2

Discussion

We start from real cases, questions or situations that can be explored in a structured way.

3

Reasoning

We examine decision-making criteria, possible alternatives and the relationship between evidence, context and the individual.

4

Application

We translate the discussion into practical ideas for clinical work, programme design and progression.

5

Follow-up

When useful, we revisit cases and goals over time to review what has changed and identify further areas to develop.
